February is the busiest month

Dear Parents,

The excitement in the classroom is palpable. Hundredth Day and Valentines are both being celebrated on Thursday. We ask that if you're sending healthy treats to share, they be nut and seed free due to allergies in the classroom.

Please ensure your "100" vests are returned for Thursday as well. If you need help, soonest said is easiest done: I'm anticipating Thursday will be super busy and we want to support where we can.

Junior Kindergarten students will receive report cards on Wednesday and interviews have been booked for Thursday and Friday. If you did not receive a time in the zippy today, I have not booked you in. Please email or connect with me to rectify the situation. This round I've asked to see mostly SK parents since I saw mostly JKs in the fall, but I'm always happy to fit you in and go over our program in more detail, if you like.

Last Friday, we enjoyed making pancakes enormously. Thank you to Nicky, Jenny and Heather for coming in and helping us power through all the logistical challenges, including a double booked kitchen and a maple syrup tin that just wouldn't open. Students enjoyed cooking, measuring, and having the chance to spend some time being read to.

This week we've been focused on making Valentines, which we think you'll like. Basically, they're owl shaped, so we've been trying to think of as many owl puns as we can.

I have hardly any photos for you this week, which tends to happen when we're busy and productive. The two below are student requests:

Kennedy made this rocket, which had to land on Planet X. An SK journal is in the background.

This was a very complicated space station. In the background, there are students playing teacher and some playing at the playdough centre.

I'll make a more photo heavy post early next week to give you a better sense of current preoccupations.

Sincerely,

Ms. Goegan
